These beans are now known as the rarest beans in the world and we managed to source a very small amount to make this amazing chocolate.
The story behind these beans is fantastic!
They were discovered while a man was trekking in the Maranon Valley of Peru and the trees have been left for over 100 years to grow 100% naturally with no human involvement.
The result is simply amazing as they have muted to have 80% white beans (cacao beans are normally dark brown except for the most prized and rarest forms).
They are from a family of rare beans most commonly known in Ecuador called Pure Nacional and they produce simply one of the best chocolates we have ever tasted…almost no bitterness whatsoever and beautiful caramel and nutty notes.
