When we learnt that March 30th was World Idli Day, we couldn’t resist asking our wonderful Factory Manager Saraswathi to make her famous chocolate idlis! Apart from being an expert chocolate maker, Saraswathi is an amazing chef as well.

Saraswathi’s Chocolate idli recipe



  • Soak rice, urad dal and fenugreek for one hour in water
  • Once soft, grind rice, urad dal and fenugreek into a paste
  • Let rest for 5-6 hrs
  • Melt Mason & Co 75% Bittersweet Dark Chocolate in a bowl
  • Add melted chocolate to the idli paste
  • Set aside for 5 minutes
  • Add paste into idly moulds
  • Option to add rasins or cashews as garnish on top
  • Steam for 5 minutes in pressure cooker
